It's very stable & really does almost everything Illustrator does, only it's WAY better because it's Open Source & totally FREE. Making the above changes took about half an hour & now Inkscape. You can produce high quality SVG graphics for branding (or any other use really) but you will have to put in some effort and research the product a bit to be able to get use it efficiently and get the most out of it. Just Google "Inkscape Mac GTK themes & toolsets". Inkscape is an excellent free product and its main focus is the creation of vector based graphics - it does this exceptionally well.
